Decompression Walks2024–2025

In 2024, my dog Smokey began to show signs of reactivity. Walks that had once been sociable and easy became tense and isolating. A behaviourist suggested decompression walks: quiet, unstructured time in nature to help calm his nervous system.

Living in Shoreditch, I had to start driving out to Hackney Marshes before sunrise to find a place still quiet enough for our walks. I began photographing those mornings on my phone—not with a project in mind, just out of habit.

This series is a quiet record of that time.
