Banger Racing

Spending more time back in my hometown of Faversham, Kent, I began noticing battered racing cars strapped to the backs of trucks on my morning dog walks. A bit of digging led me to banger racing events held down in Dover.

When my message to the organisers on Facebook went unanswered, I decided to head down to one of their race days with my cameras and see what it was all about. On arrival it was clear this was very much a world for those in the know—simply pointing my lens at people felt intrusive without first building a connection. After watching a couple of races, I turned my focus to the track itself to see what I could capture.

These images are from that day. I hope to return soon, this time with the chance to follow one of the teams more closely and document the event from a more personal perspective.
